Goa, known for its bustling tourist spots, beaches, and vibrant nightlife, faces unique challenges with drunk driving, especially during peak tourist seasons and festive events.
Recently, Goa Police have set up DUI checkpoints across popular tourist hubs, highways, and key intersections to ensure that drivers are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. These checkpoints are part of a larger initiative to reduce accidents and fatalities, which often spike during the holiday season.
In addition to DUI checks, Goa Police have been running road safety campaigns focused on educating both locals and tourists about the importance of responsible driving.
