Tripura HRC Demands Report on Minor’s Gang Rape Investigation

The Tripura Human Rights Commission (THRC) has taken a strong stance on the gang rape of a minor girl in Shantirbazar, South Tripura district. The tragic incident, which occurred on December 13, 2024, has shocked the community and sparked widespread outrage.

In response to the crime, the THRC has directed the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) to submit a detailed investigation report by January 13, 2025. The commission’s intervention underscores the importance of justice and accountability in such heinous cases.

So far, five individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, and the investigation is ongoing. The authorities are working to ensure all legal protocols are followed, aiming to deliver justice swiftly.
