Telangana Police Target Drunken Driving on New Year’s Eve

In a major drive to curb drunk driving and ensure public safety, Telangana police launched an intensive operation on New Year’s Eve. Hundreds of individuals were caught driving under the influence across various districts, including Siddipet, Suryapet, Nalgonda, Kamareddy, and Sangareddy.

Checkpoints were set up in strategic locations, and police personnel carried out breathalyzer tests to identify violators. Several arrests were made, and cases were booked under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. Authorities emphasized that such drives are essential to prevent road accidents and ensure safety during festive celebrations.
