Delhi Car Blast: Image of Alleged Mastermind Dr. Mohammad Umar Released
New Delhi: The first image of the alleged mastermind behind the Delhi car blast, Dr. Mohammad Umar, has been released by investigative agencies. According to reports by India Today, Umar was employed at Al-Falah Medical College.
The explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening claimed at least nine lives and left over 30 injured.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Umar was driving the Hyundai i20 when it exploded near Gate No.1 of the Red Fort Metro Station. Authorities suspect the blast to be a terror-related act, as the car was packed with explosives and deliberately detonated.
Officials revealed it was a suicide attack, possibly linked to the Faridabad module, which was recently busted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
