Gurdaspur: Punjab Police Foils Major Espionage Plot, Two Arrested for Leaking Military Secrets to ISI

In a major breakthrough for national security, Punjab Police successfully dismantled an espionage network by arresting two individuals involved in leaking sensitive military information to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The operation took place in Gurdaspur on May 15 (Thursday), following credible intelligence alerts.

The arrested individuals, Sukhpreet Singh and Karanbir Singh, were allegedly sharing classified details about ‘Operation Sindoor’, including information on troop movements and strategic military locations in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Acting on the inputs, police teams swiftly apprehended the suspects. A forensic examination of their mobile phones confirmed the transmission of sensitive data, validating the intelligence inputs. During the raid, officials also recovered three mobile phones and eight live .30 bore cartridges from their possession.

This counter-espionage success underscores the Punjab Police’s firm resolve to safeguard the nation against internal threats and protect strategic interests in border states. Investigations are ongoing to identify any broader network or foreign handlers connected to the case.
