Rajasthan Tragedy: Four Good Samaritans Killed While Assisting Accident Victims in Dungarpur

Jaipur/Dungarpur: In a heartbreaking turn of events, four people lost their lives and eight others were injured while trying to help victims of a road accident in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district, late Saturday night. The tragic incident occurred around 11:30 PM near the Pindawal Hilawadi bus stand under the Sabla police station limits, according to local authorities.

🚨 What Happened

According to Sabla Station House Officer (SHO) Raghuveer Singh, the sequence of events began when a jeep carrying a family returning from a wedding veered off the road, leaving a few occupants with minor injuries.

As locals gathered to help and transfer the injured into an ambulance, tragedy struck.

“While the rescue efforts were underway, a speeding truck lost control, crashed into an electricity pole, and then ploughed into the crowd standing at the scene,” SHO Singh said.

The impact was devastating — three motorcycles were crushed under the truck, and several bystanders were struck with force.

Casualties and Rescue

  • Four individuals were declared dead on arrival at the Sagwara hospital in Dungarpur.

  • Eight others sustained various injuries and are currently undergoing treatment.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Luvji Patidar

  • Dayalal Patidar

  • Savita Patidar

  • Bhavesh Patidar

All of them had stopped to assist the jeep accident victims and were returning from the same wedding function.

This incident underscores the dangers faced by Good Samaritans on Indian roads, even while performing acts of kindness. Police have assured a thorough investigation and are working to identify the truck driver responsible for the crash.
