The Supreme Court of India has expressed serious concern over the rising cases of children going missing across the country. During a recent hearing, Justice B.V. Nagarathna highlighted reports that a child goes missing every eight minutes. The Court emphasized the need for a nodal officer in each district to monitor such cases. It also suggested simplifying adoption procedures to prevent illegal practices. Advocates noted multiple illegal adoption cases in Telangana. Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati requested time to coordinate with all states for effective action.
