PUTTAPARTHI |
The Sri Sathya Sai District Police, under the leadership of District Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Satish Kumar, is pleased to announce the launch of a comprehensive drone patrolling initiative across the district. Aimed at modernizing law enforcement and ensuring a crime-free environment, intensified drone surveillance will officially commence on January 1, 2026.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
Infrastructure & Investment: On Friday, SP S. Satish Kumar formally handed over five high-tech drones, valued at approximately ₹24 lakh, to the Circle Police Officers of Puttaparthi Urban, Puttaparthi Rural, Hindupur, Madakasira, and Nallamada.
Night Vision Capabilities: The new fleet includes advanced night vision drones specifically designed to monitor secluded areas and high-risk zones during the night, filling critical gaps in traditional ground patrolling.
Strategic Objectives:
Crime Prevention: Real-time monitoring of suspicious movements and identifying potential criminal activities before they escalate.
Illegal Activities: Cracking down on gambling dens, illegal sand mining, and the consumption of ganja or alcohol in remote forest fringes or isolated fields.
Evidence Collection: Footage recorded by these drones will serve as admissible legal evidence in court to ensure higher conviction rates for offenders.
Technological Integration: These drones act as “force multipliers” alongside the existing network of ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras and static CCTV units recently installed across the district.
SP’s Message to the Public: Addressing the media, SP S. Satish Kumar emphasized that technology is the future of policing. He urged the general public and business owners to collaborate with the police by installing CCTV cameras on their own premises.
“Our goal is to create a secure environment through a dual strategy of technology-driven enforcement and proactive patrolling. From January 1st, there will be no ‘blind spots’ in the district.
