Women’s safety remains a top priority for the Kerala Police, with several new initiatives aimed at enhancing protection through advanced surveillance systems. The police have begun installing smart surveillance cameras in high-risk areas such as parks, shopping malls, and public transport stations. These cameras are connected to a central command center, allowing officers to monitor real-time footage and respond swiftly in case of emergencies. The system is equipped with facial recognition and automatic alerts for suspicious behavior, improving response times.

In addition, Kerala Police have introduced dedicated women’s safety units within their ranks. These units are specially trained to handle cases of harassment, domestic violence, and sexual assault, ensuring a more sensitive approach to women’s concerns. A mobile app that allows women to send distress signals directly to the nearest police station has also been launched, further enhancing safety protocols.
