The Telangana Recognized School Managements Association (TRSMA) has put forward a structured fee categorization for unaided private schools in accordance with GO MS No.1. The proposal outlines distinct fee slabs for pre-primary, primary, upper primary, and high school levels. Furthermore, the association has urged that private schools charging less than ₹55,000 annually be designated as budget private schools and be exempt from fee regulations.
Another major concern raised by the association is the lack of clear guidelines for handling fee defaulters. School managements have urged the education department to establish defined procedures for fee collection, as currently, 10-20% of students in budget private schools default on payments each year.
managements often receive recommendations from political leaders, organizations, and government officials requesting fee concessions, further straining school finances. “This situation is making it challenging for schools to sustain operations. We request the government to introduce clear rules for handling fee defaulters,” said S. Sreenivas Reddy, honorary president of TRSMA.
