In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police sources have confirmed that one of the accused in the Amritsar grenade attack has been killed in an encounter. The deceased has been identified as Gursidak, son of Jagjit Singh, a resident of Bal village in Amritsar.
The attack took place around midnight on Friday when an unidentified assailant on a motorcycle hurled an explosive device at a building, damaging a section of its wall and shattering window panes. While no injuries were reported, the explosion—captured on CCTV—triggered panic among residents in the Khandwala area of Amritsar.
According to sources, police received intelligence inputs that the suspects linked to the attack were seen in the Rajasansi area on Monday morning. Acting swiftly, specialized teams from the CIA (Crime Investigation Agency) and SHO Chheharta were deployed to intercept them, leading to the fatal encounter.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details related to the attack.
