Hyderabad Wrestler Charan Triumphs After Knee Surgery, Wins Gold

Hyderabad: Overcoming a severe knee injury, 25-year-old wrestler Charan has made a remarkable comeback by winning gold at the All India Civil Services Wrestling Championship 2024-25 in Mumbai. His journey was not easy—after suffering the injury, he feared his wrestling career was over. However, with successful surgery and rehabilitation at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), he regained his strength and returned to the sport.

In addition to his victory, Charan also secured a job as a Telangana Excise Constable, clearing the demanding physical fitness tests. Grateful for the support he received, he recently visited KIMS to share sweets with the doctors and caregivers who aided in his recovery. “I had lost hope, but the surgery and rehab made it possible for me to compete again,” he said.
