In a major step toward enhancing healthcare infrastructure across Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed state officials to prepare comprehensive action plans for setting up 100-bed hospitals in every constituency. The move aims to improve access to quality medical care in both urban and rural areas of the state.

During a high-level review meeting with officials from the health department, the Chief Minister underlined the urgent need to upgrade medical facilities and bridge existing healthcare gaps. This initiative is part of his broader vision to make healthcare accessible and efficient for all citizens.

Virtual Health Services at the Grassroots

As part of the health reforms, Naidu also emphasized the importance of integrating virtual healthcare services in Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs). These digital services are expected to address the unique healthcare needs of different communities by leveraging telemedicine, online consultations, and e-pharmacy platforms. The goal is to make healthcare more inclusive and reach remote or underserved regions.

Focus on Combating Substance Abuse

In a parallel development, the state government announced the opening of 13 new de-addiction centres. These facilities are aimed at treating substance abuse and offering long-term rehabilitation support, thereby addressing a growing public health concern. The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting physical and mental well-being through structured intervention programs.

Amaravati Medicity Project Gains Momentum

Furthering his long-term development agenda, Naidu also pushed for progress on the Amaravati Mega Global Medicity Project. Envisioned as a world-class healthcare hub, the Medicity will provide advanced medical services, attract medical tourism, and generate employment. Once completed, it is expected to become a cornerstone of Andhra Pradesh’s modern healthcare landscape.

These initiatives reflect the state’s renewed focus on comprehensive, technology-driven, and accessible healthcare, and mark a decisive step in transforming the healthcare ecosystem of Andhra Pradesh.
