An awareness campaign was recently conducted in the ladies’ coaches of MMTS trains to educate women passengers about the Emergency Talk Back Unit and other safety measures available onboard.
The initiative, led by M. Venkata Reddy, SIPF/SC, along with his team, focused on informing passengers about the 139 Railway Helpline, a toll-free number that can be dialed for immediate RPF assistance during emergencies while traveling.
During the programme, passengers were also shown how to use the emergency communication systems installed in coaches and were encouraged to stay alert and report any suspicious activity.
Railway officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of women commuters and urged the public to make full use of the helpline and safety features made available.
