In a significant move toward the development of Andhra Pradesh’s capital city, the Central Government has released over ₹4,200 crore for the Amaravati capital project under Phase-I of its development plan.
The World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have jointly committed to funding USD 1.6 billion (approximately ₹13,600 crore) for the project, contributing USD 800 million each.
As part of the overall ₹15,000 crore commitment for Phase-I, the Centre will contribute the remaining ₹1,400 crore, ensuring financial backing for critical infrastructure and urban development in the upcoming capital city.
The funds are expected to accelerate the pace of work on roads, public buildings, and utility services, giving a much-needed boost to the state’s capital project which had seen delays in recent years.
