Jharkhand, July 17 – A significant industrial milestone awaits Jharkhand, as the state gears up to host its first Vande Bharat train coach manufacturing unit in Chakulia. Spread over 700 acres, this mega infrastructure project will be developed with an investment of ₹4,000 crore, marking a transformative leap in the region’s industrial and employment landscape.
The project, led by the Indian Railways, aims to begin operations by 2027, with a formal MoU signing expected in August 2025. Once functional, the plant is expected to create over 4,000 direct jobs, potentially boosting the economy and bringing large-scale infrastructure development to the East Singhbhum region.
The initiative reflects India’s growing emphasis on Make in India and rail sector modernization, with Chakulia poised to become a key manufacturing hub for semi-high-speed trains like Vande Bharat.
