Arunachal Becomes First NE State with 100% Tap Water Coverage under Jal Jeevan Mission

Lumdung, July 16, 2025 – Arunachal Pradesh has set a new benchmark by becoming the first Northeastern state and 10th in India to ensure 100% tap water connectivity to all rural households under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The announcement was made by PHED Minister Mama Natung, highlighting ₹3965 crore in central funds and ₹455 crore from the state’s budget to achieve this milestone, bringing clean water to even the most remote villages.
