Itanagar, July 12, 2025 – In a key development for Arunachal’s energy landscape, Riga Village in Siang district has officially supported the MoU for the Pre‑Feasibility Report of the ambitious 11,000 MW Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP). This marks a significant step toward community engagement and consensus for the hydropower initiative. While some groups still express concern over environmental and displacement issues, Chief Minister Pema Khandu lauded the villagers for their trust and cooperation.
