The Delhi government has announced a special Diwali bonus of ₹5,000 for workers employed at the city’s three landfill sites.
The gesture comes as recognition of their hard work in managing one of the capital’s toughest jobs. Alongside the bonus, the government has also set a target to clear legacy waste from the Bhalswa landfill by October 2026.Authorities say these steps reflect efforts to improve worker welfare while addressing long-term environmental challenges in the city.
