Kurmi Community Halts Trains Demanding ST Status |

In Jharkhand, members of the Kurmi community staged a widespread ‘Rail Roko-Dahar Chheka’ protest across more than 15 locations, demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) recognition.
The agitation caused major disruptions to train services, inconveniencing thousands of passengers, and led to clashes with security forces deployed at key railway points.
