Kerala Reports Brain-Eating Amoeba Cases |

Kerala has confirmed 69 cases and 19 deaths due to Naegleria fowleri, commonly called the “brain-eating amoeba.”
Though not specific to Hyderabad, health authorities are raising awareness about the risks of swimming in warm freshwater bodies.
Experts advise using only clean, treated water for nasal irrigation and taking precautions in ponds, lakes, and rivers.
Early symptoms include headache, fever, and nausea, making awareness and prevention critical to avoid severe infections.
