BENGALURU: In a major breakthrough against the interstate trafficking of synthetic drugs, the Narcotics Control Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) has successfully apprehended a foreign national woman involved in the smuggling of high-grade cocaine from Mumbai to Bengaluru.

1. Details of the Accused: The arrested individual is a foreign national (identified as Olajide Esther). Preliminary investigations reveal that the accused was operating as a key mule for an organized drug syndicate and was utilizing interstate public transport to avoid police scrutiny.

2. The Operation and Seizure: Acting on precise intelligence regarding the movement of contraband, CCB officials intercepted a private luxury bus arriving from Mumbai. Upon a thorough search of the suspect’s belongings, the team discovered the narcotics.

Contraband Seized: 121 grams of high-quality Cocaine.

Estimated Market Value: Approximately ₹1.20 Crore.

Other Items: One mobile phone used for coordinating with local distributors.

3. Modus Operandi: To evade detection by canine units and manual checks, the accused employed a unique concealment method. The cocaine was found meticulously packed inside commercial bread covers, hidden amongst food items in her luggage.

4. Legal Action: A case has been registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The police are currently investigating the suspect’s visa and passport credentials to verify her legal status in the country.

5. Ongoing Investigation: The CCB is working to trace the source of the drugs in Mumbai and the intended recipients in Bengaluru. Special focus is being placed on identifying the local “middlemen” who cater to the city’s party circuits.
