In Karnataka’s Mudhol region, sugarcane farmers protested over unpaid dues, blocking tractors transporting sugarcane to Sameerwadi Godavari Sugar Factory.

Farmers, frustrated by the factory’s closure and mounting losses, punctured tractor tires and scattered sugarcane on the road, even setting one vehicle on fire.

The protest caused tension near Mahalingpur, drawing local police to calm the situation. Farmers demanded immediate payment of dues and reopening of the factory.

They warned of escalating protests if authorities fail to respond, with plans to expand the agitation statewide.
