HAMPI, KARNATAKA — December 20, 2025 — Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, officially launched Cyient AI Labs (CyAILS) – ‘VijAIpatha’ today, a pioneering CSR-led national initiative aimed at bringing world-class Artificial Intelligence (AI), STEM, and Robotics education to government schools. The pilot project was inaugurated at the Government Girls’ Pre-University College in Amaravati, Hosapete Taluka.
Bridging the Digital Divide
Implemented by the Cyient Foundation in partnership with the Government of Karnataka, ‘VijAIpatha’ is designed to foster early digital fluency and computational thinking among students in rural and semi-urban India. Key Features of the ‘VijAIpatha’ Pilot:
Infrastructure: Establishment of five world-class AI and Robotics laboratories equipped with high-performance computers, AI-ready software, IoT devices, sensors, and high-speed broadband.
Curriculum: Integration of CBSE’s official AI curriculum, ensuring that government school students receive the same quality of technical education as elite private institutions.
Impact: The pilot directly benefits over 2,000 students from Classes 6 to 10 and provides specialized training to more than 200 teachers to ensure long-term academic sustainability.
Investment: Cyient has committed approximately ₹1 crore over the next three years to establish and maintain these labs.
A Scalable Benchmark for India
During the launch, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman interacted with students who demonstrated AI-driven models and robotics projects. She noted that such initiatives are vital for preparing the grassroots workforce for emerging technologies.
Dr. B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Founder-Chairman of Cyient, stated: “‘VijAIpatha’ is more than just a lab; it is a commitment to inclusive innovation. By making cutting-edge technology accessible to underprivileged students, we are investing in the architects of India’s digital future.”
