Puducherry Police Launch ‘Operation Trishul’ for New Year Safety

In a bid to ensure a safe and peaceful New Year celebration, the Puducherry Police carried out a series of surprise raids on the residences of 250 history-sheeters across the region. The operation, named “Operation Trishul,” involved more than 500 police personnel and was aimed at curbing any potential criminal activities during the festive period.

The operation led to the arrest of one individual who was found in possession of a dangerous weapon, underscoring the police’s commitment to maintaining public safety. In addition, preventive actions were taken against 48 individuals, who were considered potential threats to law and order. Authorities also executed four non-bailable warrants as part of the operation, demonstrating their proactive approach in tackling criminal elements.

Operation Trishul is part of the broader efforts by Puducherry Police to ensure that the New Year festivities proceed without incident. With heightened security measures in place, the police aim to prevent any disruptions, providing residents and visitors a safe environment to celebrate.
