Odisha Police Destroys 15,000 Acres of Cannabis Plantations

Odisha Police have intensified their efforts to eliminate illegal cannabis cultivation across the state. Under the directive of DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, a large-scale operation has resulted in the destruction of over 15,000 acres of cannabis plantations and the uprooting of approximately 1.77 crore cannabis plants. These efforts aim to curb the supply of illegal narcotics and dismantle networks involved in drug trafficking.

So far, 350 cases have been registered, and four individuals have been arrested for their roles in the illicit activity. The crackdown reflects the state’s commitment to addressing the drug problem, safeguarding communities, and preventing the misuse of arable land for illegal purposes.
