The Supreme Court on Friday issued a contempt notice to the Principal Secretary (Home) of the Delhi government for not acting on the remission plea of Sukhdev Yadav, also known as Pehalwan, a convict in the Nitish Katara murder case.

The court has instructed the official to provide an explanation as to why contempt proceedings should not be initiated and has directed him to appear before the court via video conferencing on March 28.
