Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, D Sridhar Babu, launched GraamPay at Viyona Fintech’s headquarters, aiming to improve digital financial access in rural India. Highlighting technology’s role in financial inclusion, he called GraamPay a “revolutionary initiative” that ensures financial access is a right for all, not just a privilege.
With over 65% of India’s population in rural areas, many face difficulties accessing financial services. GraamPay aims to bridge this gap by providing fast, secure, and easy digital transactions, helping small traders, farmers, and rural entrepreneurs embrace digital commerce and reduce reliance on cash.
The platform follows a Village-Level Entrepreneur (VLE) model, where trained individuals assist their communities in adopting digital payments. GraamPay enables QR code transactions, UPI payments, and mobile financial solutions, ensuring secure and seamless digital transactions.
Viyona Fintech Chairman, Ravindranath Yarlagadda, emphasized their mission to bridge the financial gap between urban and rural areas. He stated, “GraamPay is more than a payment platform; it’s a step towards true financial inclusion, empowering every Indian with secure digital transactions.”
