New Delhi/Hyderabad: The Central Government has officially given the green signal to the highly anticipated Amaravati-Hyderabad Greenfield Expressway project. This new expressway is expected to drastically reduce travel time between Andhra Pradesh’s capital Amaravati and Telangana’s capital Hyderabad.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) instructed the Ministry of Roads, Transport, and Highways (MoRTH) to begin work on a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the expressway. Once completed, this greenfield corridor is likely to boost regional connectivity and economic activity between the two states.
In addition, the Home Ministry has also asked officials to formulate a roadmap for the Regional Ring Road (RRR), specifically focusing on the northern part of Telangana. The RRR is expected to play a major role in improving transport infrastructure and reducing traffic congestion around Hyderabad.
These infrastructure projects are seen as key steps in improving inter-state connectivity and promoting regional development in South India.
