In a major crackdown, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at multiple locations including Lumami (Nagaland), Jorhat (Assam), and Agartala (Tripura) in connection with an alleged corruption case at Nagaland University.
The accused, Dr. Chitta Ranjan Deb, a senior professor and dean, is suspected of manipulating tender processes to benefit specific bidders in exchange for bribes, leading to significant financial losses for the institution.
Documents related to tender irregularities were seized during the raids. The FIR was registered on July 12, and the investigation is currently underway.
