The industrial hub of Panipat has achieved a landmark milestone in sustainable manufacturing. The Atal Centre of Textile Recycling and Sustainability (ACTRS) has pioneered advanced techniques to recycle high-performance, defence-grade aramid fibre waste.
India processes roughly 7.8 million tonnes of textile waste annually, and this technical breakthrough positions Haryana as a leader in green industrial loops.
By transforming high-strength synthetic fibers back into the manufacturing cycle, the project addresses the informal sector’s sorting bottlenecks, vastly lowering environmental impact while boosting the state’s growing technical textile economy
