Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 12 years as the Prime Minister of India, marking a significant phase in the country’s political and administrative landscape.

Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister on May 26, 2014. Since then, his government has focused on development, governance reforms, infrastructure expansion, and economic growth across various sectors.

During his tenure, several flagship initiatives and policy reforms were introduced. Schemes such as Jan Dhan Yojana expanded banking access to millions of citizens, while the Digital India initiative accelerated technological and digital transformation across the country. The Swachh Bharat Mission also increased awareness about sanitation and cleanliness nationwide.

Programmes including Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat aimed at strengthening domestic manufacturing and promoting self-reliance in key sectors of the economy.

Major decisions taken during Modi’s tenure include the abrogation of Article 370, the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), inauguration of the new Parliament building, and conducting one of the world’s largest COVID-19 vaccination drives.

On the international front, India also witnessed increased global engagement during this period. Hosting the G20 Summit, expanding diplomatic outreach, and strengthening ties with several countries contributed to India’s growing presence on the global stage.

Political analysts say Modi’s 12-year tenure has become a notable chapter in contemporary Indian politics.
