The Odisha government has approved a ₹42 crore interest subvention scheme to strengthen fertiliser distribution through cooperative societies during the Kharif season. The initiative aims to ensure the timely availability of fertilisers to farmers, improve the efficiency of the supply chain, and prevent shortages during the peak agricultural period.

The scheme is also designed to curb black marketing and ensure that fertilisers reach farmers at affordable prices. By supporting cooperative societies with interest subsidies, the government seeks to enhance agricultural productivity, promote transparent distribution, and strengthen the rural economy while benefiting thousands of farmers across the state.
