Strict Action on Election Code Violations: SP Sneha Mehra

In view of the Municipal Elections in the four municipalities of Vikarabad District, the District Superintendent of Police, Smt. Sneha Mehra, IPS, has advised all citizens of the district to strictly follow the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). She stated that for the elections to be conducted peacefully and impartially, every citizen must act within the bounds of law and exercise their right to vote freely without yielding to any inducements.

She warned that any attempt to influence voters through money, liquor, or gifts is illegal. The District SP clearly stated that illegal sale and distribution of liquor will not be permitted under any circumstances. During the election period, rallies, public meetings, or gatherings shall not be organized without prior written permission from the competent authorities, and the use of mike sets or any equipment causing noise pollution is strictly prohibited.

She further stated that anyone carrying cash exceeding ₹50,000/- must necessarily produce valid supporting documents. Strict action will be taken under cyber laws against those who circulate fake news, provocative messages, or hateful comments through social media platforms.

To ensure the smooth conduct of elections, the District SP instructed the district police machinery to remain fully alert. She directed officers to conduct field-level visits to all polling stations within municipal limits, especially sensitive polling stations where disturbances had occurred in the past.

She informed that strong police bandobast has already been arranged at all nomination centers across all municipalities in the district.
