As the 2026 Char Dham Yatra gathers momentum, a controversy has erupted at the sacred Kedarnath Dham. Several pilgrims have alleged that “VIP darshan” is being sold for ₹2,500, allowing wealthy visitors to bypass long queues while thousands wait in freezing rain.
In response to these reports, the District Magistrate of Rudraprayag has ordered an immediate inquiry. This move aims to restore the sanctity of the pilgrimage and ensure that the spiritual journey remains fair and accessible for all devotees visiting the Himalayas.
