Sharingain Longkumer, the Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), recently attended a crucial national committee meeting in Mysuru, Karnataka.
Under the chairmanship of UP Speaker Satish Mahana, the panel deliberated on drafting a Uniform Model of Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business for legislative bodies across India.
Strikingly, Nagaland’s Assembly Secretary has been selected for a dedicated sub-committee to examine the implementable areas of uniformity. The committee will now seek broader state consultations before submitting its final report to the Lok Sabha Speaker.
