Sikkim Celebrates Historic 50th Statehood Day

Sikkim is celebrating its historic 50th Statehood Day today, marking five decades since its transition from a monarchy to becoming the 22nd state of India in 1975. To honor the golden jubilee, Vice-President C. P.

 Radhakrishnan arrived in Gangtok on his maiden visit to the state to grace the grand celebrations at Manan Kendra.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes, praising Sikkim’s vital contributions to national growth and reaffirming the Central Government’s absolute commitment to supporting the Himalayan state’s future development and economic prosperity.
