Security forces, along with specialized sniffer dog squads, have stepped up massive combing operations in the interior hills of Kangpokpi district.
The mission aims to rescue civilians still held hostage by armed outfits following a major abduction incident on May 13. While 31 of the 38 captured individuals have been safely released, tensions remain high.
Local Liangmai Naga community leaders met Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, demanding the immediate safe release of the remaining individuals—including a local pastor—or the handover of their bodies.
