Medicines are facing a temporary squeeze today as pharmacies across Chandigarh join a 24-hour nationwide strike.
Organised by the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists, local shops have downed shutters to protest against the rise of unregulated online pharmacies and e-commerce drug sales.
To protect citizens, the Health Department has kept essential government-run pharmacies open. Outlets like Amrit Pharmacy and Jan Aushadhi Kendras at PGIMER, GMCH-32, and GMSH-16 remain open to ensure emergency life-saving drugs remain accessible.
