The Chandigarh Administration, led by UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, has officially approved draft amendments to the Chandigarh Master Plan-2031.
Aligned with the central government’s Deregulation 1.0 and 2.0 initiatives, these reforms aim to significantly reduce compliance burdens and minimize land loss.
A specialized Expert Committee recommended the changes to optimize the Union Territory’s scarce land resources, opening doors for sustainable development, modernized infrastructure, and future-ready urban planning while preserving the city’s iconic heritage layout.
