Goa experienced its strongest pre-monsoon activity of the season yesterday, triggering a widespread yellow alert for today.

Strong atmospheric convection brought heavy thunderstorms, packing an average of 22.4mm of rainfall in a single day. Dabolim recorded the highest downpour at 52mm, while regions like Bardez faced major disruptions.

High winds led to uprooted trees, blocked traffic, and structural damages in Anjuna and Mapusa. Emergency services are actively clearing debris as temperatures across Panaji plunged by 3°C, bringing a humid but cooling respite.
