The Southwest Monsoon is at Kerala’s doorstep, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue yellow alerts for 10 districts today, including Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, and Idukki.
Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms has already lashed several parts of the state. Sea conditions remain rough, prompting a strict ban on fishing activities along the Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep coasts until May 28, with wind speeds expected to hit up to 60 km/h.
