Madhya Pradesh’s extensive coking coal reserves have taken center stage in national industrial strategy discussions today.

According to fresh geological resource reports, MP holds critical chunks of India’s estimated 37.37 billion tonnes of coking coal.

As a vital raw material for high-temperature carbonization and steel manufacturing, the domestic extraction of this low-moisture, high-carbon bituminous coal is being heavily prioritized.

The state’s mining developments are expected to significantly reduce India’s heavy import reliance on global giants like Australia and Russia, boosting local employment.
