The Delhi Government has finalized a major overhaul of its Slum and JJ Cluster Rehabilitation Policy, bringing sweeping changes to urban housing in the national capital. In a historic move, authorities officially extended the eligibility cut-off date by an entire decade, moving it forward from 2015 to January 1, 2025
This administrative shift is estimated to directly protect and benefit over 2 million slum residents across the city. The refreshed framework prioritizes on-site, in-situ public-private partnerships to build secure, vertical housing complexes, ensuring marginalized families transition safely into permanent concrete homes equipped with integrated civic infrastructure, schools, and health centers.
