In a critical press briefing, the Native People’s Committee Manipur (NPCM), led by Convenor Ashang Kasar, strongly challenged the government’s narrative of normalcy returning to the state. Kasar argued that using heavily armed military escorts to transport specific communities through Imphal creates a dangerous illusion of stability rather than genuine reconciliation.
Highlighting the severe ground realities, the committee pointed out that vital lifelines like National Highways 2 and 37 remain completely blocked and unsafe for ordinary Meitei and Naga citizens, proving that a sustainable peace framework is still far from being achieved.
