In a compelling press briefing, the Native People’s Committee Manipur (NPCM), led by Convenor Ashang Kasar, explicitly challenged the government’s narrative of returning normalcy. Kasar argued that using armed military escorts to safely transport specific communities through Imphal merely creates a dangerous illusion of stability rather than genuine, lasting peace.
Highlighting the tense ground realities, the committee emphasized that critical lifelines like the state’s national highways remain largely blocked and highly inaccessible to ordinary Meitei and Naga citizens, proving that authentic reconciliation has yet to be achieved.
