A sharp rise in public health metrics has sparked widespread concern across Mizoram after state health data revealed a worrying spike in Tuberculosis (TB) cases. In just the first half of 2026, the state recorded 71 TB-related fatalities and detected more than 1,050 fresh cases.
Health officials are sounding the alarm over this rapid transmission rate, urging immediate community awareness and stricter medical interventions. This sudden uptick places a severe burden on the state’s healthcare infrastructure, prompting authorities to intensify diagnostic screening and reinforce public health protocols to curb further spread.
