In a major advancement for atmospheric science, the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, and the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital, have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding. This collaboration aims to establish a cutting-edge BCON Climate Observation Station at the high-altitude site of Devasthal.
By integrating expertise from both institutions, the facility will focus on comprehensive monitoring of Himalayan climate data, providing critical insights into regional environmental changes and helping researchers better understand the complexities of the Himalayan ecosystem and its impact on broader climate patterns.
