To sustain its rapidly expanding industrial economy, the government has launched a major energy initiative in Obra, Sonbhadra. This project involves the construction of two state-of-the-art 800-MW ultra-supercritical thermal power units, designed for maximum efficiency and output. Once operational by the end of 2026, these facilities will contribute an impressive 1,600 MW to Uttar Pradesh’s total power capacity.
By bridging the gap between rising energy demand and supply, this infrastructure milestone ensures a reliable power foundation for the state’s future industrial ventures and socioeconomic development, marking a significant step toward energy self-reliance.
