The Kerala State Transport Department is closely monitoring the successful initial rollout of its landmark ‘Priyadarshini’ scheme. Designed to promote inclusivity and ease of commuting, this newly launched initiative offers completely free travel for women and transgender individuals across the state.
The benefit is applicable on all non-premium, ordinary buses operated by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). By easing the financial burden on daily commuters, the progressive policy aims to significantly enhance mobility, encourage public transit usage, and foster greater social and economic empowerment within the community.
